For more than 38 years, photography has been both my profession and my passion. I believe the most meaningful photographs do more than document how someone looks—they capture personality, connection, and the moments we want to remember.
I began my career in photography long before digital cameras changed the industry, building my foundation in lighting, composition, posing, and the craft of creating a photograph in-camera. Over the years, my work has evolved alongside the technology, but those fundamentals continue to shape every image I create.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and Studio Arts from the University of Pittsburgh and have earned the Master Photographer degree from Professional Photographers of America (PPA). In 2026, I was honored to be recognized as one of the Top Ten Photographers in Florida by Florida Professional Photographers.
A Lifetime Behind the Camera
Before relocating to Florida, I owned and operated Silver Castle Studio in Mokena, Illinois, where I photographed families, professionals, weddings, events, pets, and businesses for nearly two decades.
Today, Silver Castle Studio Photography & Education is based in The Villages, Florida, where I create professional photography for individuals, families, businesses, and fellow photographers throughout Central Florida.
My work now focuses on several areas I especially enjoy: professional headshots, real estate photography, portraiture, fine-art animal portraits, and photography education. Although these areas may seem very different, they all rely on the same foundation—an understanding of light, thoughtful composition, attention to detail, and knowing how to bring out the best in the subject in front of my camera.
Creating an Experience, Not Just a Photograph
I want being photographed to feel comfortable and personal. You don't need to know how to pose or what to do in front of a camera—that's my job. I'll guide you through the process, paying close attention to lighting, expression, posing, and the small details that make a photograph feel natural and polished.
Whether I'm creating a portrait, professional headshot, or imagery for a business or property, my goal is the same: to create photographs with purpose, quality, and attention to detail.
Photography Education
Teaching has become an important part of what I do. After decades behind the camera, I enjoy helping photographers understand not only what to do, but why it works.
Through classes and hands-on workshops, I teach photography fundamentals, composition, lighting, posing, and creative techniques in a way that is practical, approachable, and designed to build confidence.
The Noble Companion
The Art of an Extraordinary Bond.
My passion for fine-art portraiture led to the creation of The Noble Companion, a portrait experience devoted to dogs, cats, horses, and the extraordinary relationships we share with them.
These portraits combine traditional portraiture with artistic finishing to create meaningful artwork that celebrates not simply what an animal looks like, but who they are and what they mean to the people who love them.
